Venice (Woizero is her registered name) is a pretty little bay mare that came from a large herd of horses that had pretty much run wild for about ten years. She is a registered Arab. So she must have been handled as a foal in some way (since they have to be dna tested). But she is very much a feral horse.

I’ve had her since the fall of 2012. Because I also had surgery for a broken elbow at around the same time, it took me a while to be able to do much with her. I spent the first three months or so just sitting in her paddock reading books or working on my laptop to let her get used to my presence.

She’s an ongoing project and I hope we make some progress through the spring and summer.

I’m not sure how big she is exactly. But not very. Maybe 14.1 or 14.2hh.
